The Highland Coo Trail
When you think Scotland and what it has to offer you may think of the usual haggis, whisky or Irn Bru.
But another staple of our culture is Highland Cows or 'Coos'. They're all-around Scotland and are one of the most recognisable Scottish icons.
What better way to celebrate the Highland Cow (coo), than the 'Hairy Highland Coo Trail', held by the Children's Hospices Across Scotland, or CHAS.
Promoting a charity dedicated to helping better the lives of sick kids around the country, the trailt will feature 30 different looking coos that will be spread in the surrounding areas of Perth and Kinross, painted by artists and communities.
The hope is to make it a hit summer destination for this year, bringing awareness as well. Visitors and locals alike can appreciate the art and the cause, maybe even stumbling across a few of the local areas along the way. Really bringing this sense of community to something that really matters but adding a fun element of sight-seeing. It'll be held for 10 weeks during the summer, then they'll be sent off to auction hopefully raising £100,000 in the name of charity.
If you're in the area after visiting the many whacky combinations of the coos, grabbing a few selfies and exploring the area, you could visit the Heathergems factory in Pitlochry, not too far from the trail.
You can even pick up one of our Highland Coo brooches.
